Your default settings are the way you usually behave or respond without making a deliberate choice.
Hear it in real life
What do you do when you're stressed?
My default settings are to go quiet and make a cup of tea.
My default settings are to stay quiet when an argument starts.
The mistake everyone makes
Not: My default settings is to stay quiet in arguments.
Say: My default settings are to stay quiet in arguments.
“Settings” is plural, so it takes “are,” even when followed by one habitual response.
